Note
Why Are These Chia Cakes So Creamy?
The chia seeds are responsible for much of the texture. When they sit in the Greek yogurt, they absorb moisture and swell, creating a thick, pudding-like consistency. This gives the filling its creamy texture without needing gelatin or cream.
Why Add Chia Seeds?
Chia seeds are a simple way to add fiber, plant-based fats and additional nutrients to a dessert. They also make the recipe more satisfying while helping create that thick, creamy texture.
Why Wellbe Beauty Collagen?
I used Wellbe Beauty Collagen Wildberry with Rejuva® Complex formula because the formula combines collagen peptides with several additional beauty-supporting nutrients.
It contains PEPTAN® bioactive collagen hydrolysate with collagen types I, II and III, as well as vitamin C, biotin, zinc, MSM, L-lysine and hyaluronic acid. According to Wellbe, the product is made with bovine collagen, comes in convenient 5 g portions and is laboratory tested and produced in Germany.
What Does Vitamin C Have to Do With Collagen?
Vitamin C has a specific nutritional role in collagen production. It contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin. This is one reason vitamin C is included in the Rejuva® Complex formula.
Why the Wildberry Flavor?
The wildberry flavor works especially well here because the chia and Greek yogurt mixture is naturally mild and creamy. The fruity collagen adds another layer of flavor without needing fresh fruit or additional flavoring.
